A lot of budget inkjet printer seem like a bargain on the surface but have sting in their tail in terms of the cost of the printer ink cartridges they use. Epson D92 ink cartridges in genuine Epson form cost the same price for a full set as the D92 printer itself does. Fortunately there are compatible printer cartridges available for the Stylus D92 and they cost a lot less than the genuine Epson ones and still print the same amount. Another trap a lot of people fall into when buying a budget printer like the D92 is taking everything they read on the printer’s spec sheet at face value. Printer manufacturers try their hardest to get you to buy their printer so they you’ll then buy lots of ink for it and this leads to them bending the true slightly on the official specifications of the printer. Take the printing speed of the D92 for example, it is stated that it is capable of printing 25 pages per minute, but what is doesn’t say is that is figure is only achieved when printing is draft quality and each pages only containing a few lines of text, as a are result the real world speed of the D92 is 2.5 pages per minute. So before buying any inkjet printer try to do some real world research into the printer first such as asking on internet forums if anyone has bought the printer and what they think of it, and also read customer reviews from websites who sell the printer. This will give you a better understanding of the printer’s value for money and help you determine if it is suitable for your individual requirements.
