The Epson Stylus SX400 is a multifunction printer, scanner, copier that offers versatility at an affordable price tag. There are lots of devices for the SX400 to compete with in this category but the SX40 has a slight advantage over them with its printer ink system. The Epson SX400 ink cartridges are made up of four individual Epson ink cartridges which although are quite expensive at £30 work out to be economical because the cartridges can be changed separately and therefore no ink gets wasted when only one colours has run out. Epson have made some improvements to the built quality of their machines with the introduction of the SX stylus range and this translates into the SX400 have a solid and robust feel. Operation noise has also been a problem with Epson printers through the range and this remains a problem with the SX400 especially when it’s printing. Fortunately the print quality makes up for this, the SX400 produces great quality results for all types of documents from basic text to high resolution graphics and photographs. As well printing, the SX400 offers up A4 scanning facilities and is capable of scanning with speed and efficiency. The photo copier works without the need for the device to be connected to a computer which is great for copying in a rush or even if you don’t have a computer. Overall the SX400 offers great versatility and with the availability of cheap compatible cartridges and a low purchase price it is excellent value for money.
